Dink Frog
Dink Frog, Tink Frog or Caretta Robber Frog (Diasporus diastema: Leptodactylidae) Female dink frogs are about 2.5 cm (1 in) long, while the noisy males are only about 1.9 cm (3/4 in) long. Photographed in La Cinchona, Alajuela Province, Costa Rica at ca. 1,524 m (5,000 ft) elevation before the Village was destroyed by a 6.2 magnitude earthquake in January 2009. Lower Montane Cloud Forest. An extremely easy frog to hear and identify by its call, an incessant dink or tink. However, actually seeing one is another matter. They are quite polymorphic, both in color and pattern but when you do spot one and watch it sound off, there is no doubt to what you are looking at.
