What a great picture to get of these two cockatoos. Very well done Steve.

I'm struggling bit with the name of these guys .... Baudin's Black Cockatoo was split from Carnaby's a while ago and has several names.... Long-billed, white-tailed and some other variations LOL.

Carnaby's has some alterantive names such as short-billed and slender-billed.

Comparing your picture with the Baudin's it looks a bit more of a match?? With the brighter white face patch, and white, possibly longer, bill? But all that could be due to angle and light!

We hardly ever see either of these species come into the Gallery, so it would be wonderful to have the ID sorted, if you can help.

I'm back again Steve... I've now had confirmation that this is, indeed, a Carnaby's, so I've added the scientific name to your picture details. This way it can easily be found through Opus.

We have so few images of this species in the Gallery - many thanks for sharing it with us. It must be wonderful to see these guys in your garden!!!

A lovely capture of these two, Steve. Seeing 100 in the garden must be amazing!
