Black-headed Ibis
An adult with bald black head and neck. Formerly lumped with the similar African Sacred Ibis and the Australian Ibis, but their genetics show different chromosome karyotypes making them reproductively incompatible. Black-headed differs from the others by having a gray (not black tail). Listed as "near threatened" they continue to decline with the main threat being loss of habitat.
