Black Bee-Eater 2
Though Liberia receives up to 500 cm of rain a year, the secondary rain forest near the ocean is often broken up by extensive areas of sandy soil that can support only grasses. This Black Bee-eater and its mate were found on the forest edge of one of these large areas of "coastal savanna".
