Bear at midnight (Ursus arctos)

This photo I took at 11.48 pm. This bear was walking at the swamp, in which were these white hays, Eriophorum vaginatum (I don`t know english name).
Habitat
swamp
Location
Finland, Kuhmo, border-area
Date taken
04. July 2008
Scientific name
Ursus arctos
Equipment used
Canon EOS 1D MKII + Canon 500 mm f4 L IS USM + 1,4x
Terrific image, Ari. Great feel of Finnish summer night. The light shapes his back beautifully. And you got the head in light giving the appropriate personal feel to the Bear. Brilliant!

   You're the Man,Ari. A fantastic setting and you couldn't get a more atmospheric shot even if you tried all night long! A delight to look at. Walked straight into my favourites. Superb work. Thanks. :t:

The plant is called Hare's-tail Cotton-grass in English.

The photograph is beautiful, full of mystery and magic - thank you!

:eek!: Marvelous midnight image, Ari, and love the effect of the Eriophorum vaginatum (;)) on the field, like tiny lights to show the bear its way along the swamp!!! :t: :loveme:
