Baltimore Oriole
This juvenile Baltimore Oriole was going to my feeder and went and sat in this tree. I managed to get a good shot of it because it was right outside my bedroom window.

Thank you for sharing this excellent image.

By the way

Our new Bird Forum/Opus system searches the Gallery by the information contained in the tags placed with an image.

Even if the information is in the title, it needs to be tagged. The most important tags are Common Name, Scientific Name, and Location, at a minimum.

Try to not use abbreviations for states and/or other political subdivisions. While they may be familiar to you, the BF/Opus audience is worldwide and it may not be familiar to someone in another locale.

It is the presence of these tags that will allow searchers to find and enjoy your most beautiful images. I'm sure you would be disappointed should someone happen to miss seeing one, or more, of them simply because no tags were present.

Your assistance in making this happen by placing tags on your uploaded images will be appreciated very much.

No, what I meant is abbreviations for states and/or cities.

I see you are from New York. So, as I'm sure you're used to doing, you likely put NY and/or NYC. Now, you and I being from the US, know that NY means New York, but it could also mean New York as in the state or New York City.

But BF/Opus has members and visitors from all over the world, literally. So, if a member from, say, Greece or Malaysia should happen to read something with NY in it, they likely will not know what it is referring to.

So, to guard against the confusion or outright "not knowing," we encourage people to spell out state names and city names. The same with using, say, NP for National Park or WR for Wildlife Reserve. That sort of thing. Try to spell things out to help guard against the confusion.

Does that answer your question?

right, because of the annoying stereotype that living in new york means living in new york city. Well, I'll remember that next time.

I understand the stereotype. My wife is a Jersey girl, but "South" Jersey/Ocean County as opposed to the Newark/Northeast Jersey everybody thinks of.
