Above the swans on the island, the Osprey returned to that treetop with partner still below, having appeared to have finished his meal.

A very heavy crop, but I'm quite pleased with the result really.

This was so lovely to see after the disappointment at Loch of the Lowes, when the female lost her mate after laying some eggs. He was found beside a hill loch, having apparently died of natural causes. Very sad.

That is a talented Osprey to be able to perch on that narrow tree top. Fabulous double capture of this impressive pair. TFS D!
 
Good timing here Delia...Sad as it is, its good to hear of a raptor dying of natural causes, and not shot or poisoned.

Indeed so Mali... the day the news first broke someone posted that he had been shot. It was some weeks before the results of the postmortem was published.
