Albino Slug
Tanny

Albino Slug (?)

On an early morning walk through the fields I spotted this bright creature on the ground. I have never seen a white slug before and I was wondering if anyone else had ever seen one.
I brought it home with me and it is feeding on best lettuce. I think I might call my little pet, "Slimy Snow Flake". I wonder what a slugs life span is.

Hi guys, isn't the internet terrific, I have learned all there is to know about Slugs today and as for this white one I have discovered it is an ALIEN to Britain, and the discription of the creature makes one shiver.
Alien 'Ghost Slug' blazes slimy trail through British gardens.
With its deathly white skin, razor-sharp teeth and a taste for blood, this gruesome creature is blazing a slimy trail through British gardens.
Called the Ghost Slug by experts who discovered this brand new species, the carnivorous mollusc is hiding out in flowerbeds waiting to suck up unsuspecting worms 'like spaghetti'. The eyeless creature, the likes of which have never been seen in Europe, has been spotted on nocturnal hunts in Welsh gardens.
The sientific name is also as bad as the creature itself, 'Selenochlamys ysbryda'.
"Ghost Slug" Yuck, should be 'Nightmare Slug'.
Mine is tucked up in a lettuce leaf, sleeping like an innocent baby. Should I feed a worm to it or a dose of salt?.

A wonderful picture and great documentation. Your post describing it is brilliant. We all play the cards we are dealt. It is what it is. An interesting pet indeed. It will be interesting to see what its life span is.
