Acorn woodpecker
Just doing acorn woodpecker things.
Incidentally, that oak leaf was brought over by the woodpecker from another tree.

Here is an excerpt from wikipedia about the acorn woodpecker:
"The woodpeckers then collect acorns and find a hole that is just the right size for the acorn. As acorns dry out, they are moved to smaller holes and granary maintenance requires a significant amount of the bird's time. The acorns are visible, and a group defends its granary against potential cache robbers like Steller's jays and western scrub-jays."

It has to be acorn day today with the California (and Florida) Scrub Jay, too. Congratulations on your behavioural shot and showing its pantry in cross section. Nice blue sky as well.
