Great idea Toby. Have been trying to find a way of saving image onto iphone but failed so far. Then would be great when onsite.

Out of curiosity, did you Framptonites have a leucistic Black-tailed Godwit this autumn? There's one on the Stour currently and most (nearly all?!) our c-ringed birds seem to drop off with you first on the way down. So it would be nice to link it up.

Today was going to be a day at Frampton, but the weather persuaded me to head for Freiston Shore where there's more shelter. Highlights were common scoter right up by the shore at high tide and a brief visit by a merlin. Also a pretty good showing of waders in the lagoon as the tide was rising.

Ooops, we've let this slip a bit. So whats about?

Well, the ibis has scarpered, but we do have a small flock of snow buntings. usually to be seen by the sea bank.

Lots of wigeon, brents, goldies... quite a few other waders kicking about too. Up to 100 ruff in the field alongside the car park

Barn owl is being very regular, 4pm around the weedbed and sometimes coming really close to the centre. Hen harriers too, both grey ghosts and ringtails.

Good year list birds are Water Pipit and European White-fronted Goose. Whoopers and Barn Owl are regular in the early evening as the former come in to roost and later hunts the long grass around the VC.

White-fronts still about. Kingfisher seen in the same place as yesterday and RLB reported south of the A16 kirton roundabout.

Water Pip elusive. Lots of Rockits on sea bank. Whoopers and Pinkies come in just after dark. Great to see and hear.
