Paul's 2024 World List (1 Viewer)

No year ticks or even trip additions yesterday. A quieter evening seawatch with "just" 250 Fea's Petrels. We will be heading out again shortly for another attempt.

A few of the inverts & a dolphin so far...

Moths - currently unidentified. Hypena Snouts species (two pics), Agdistis plume species & a wave presumably Idaea...

Dragonflies - Violet Dropwing, Scarlet Darter, mating Vagrant Emperors & Globe Skimmer.

Butterflies - Long-tailed Blue, Bath White, Citrus Swallowtail & Plain Tiger.

Dolphin - possibly Striped Dolphin?

Any corrections welcome!

All the best

Paul

A few days on foot have produced three more Med Gull sightings with at least three individuals involved in the four sightings. A few other bits but no additions.

Pics - Med Gull (15.02.24), Snipe, Common Sandpiper, Long-tailed Tit, Wigeon, Common Gull, Goosander, Med Gull (17.02.24), Oystercatcher, Raven & Med Gull (19.02.24).

It is due to rain in the morning and in the evening, I am due to fly to Thailand for three weeks birding. So hopefully, if things go smoothly, a few additions will follow soon enough.

All the best

An hour's light at our Bangkok Hotel this evening before a 3am pick up tomorrow morning. A few cheap year ticks....

In fact, Red-whiskered Bulbil is my first Category A. But we all know my heart is really with those Valencian birds. 😀

After day one proper - mainly a day spent travelling - my Thailand trip list is on 87 including 16 heard only. I have had 6 lifers - Spot-bellied Eagle Owl, Long-tailed Broadbill, (Austen's) Brown Hormbill, Indian White-eye, Ayeyarwady Bulbul & Streaked Spiderhunter - & White-throated Bulbul heard only. Trying to remedy the heard only tomorrow morning. Also my first photos of Scarlet Minivet.
