Is this a great-tailed grackle? The colour looks too light to me

Bill-shape and overall colour are wrong for any(?) grackle, certainly for great-tailed grackle. It does look right for unicolored jay - and the actual location would therefore certainly be useful to know (and should be provided with all ID requests along with the date) as that species has a highly-restricted distribution. Another species to be considered (although this isn't one) is black catbird.
