Great or Lesser Grey Shrike? Greece - Late Spring (May)

Hi all - Just looking back at some old photographs - these were taken in late Spring near Mt Olympus in Greece. I'm struggling to tell if this is a Great Grey Shrike or a Lesser Grey. I have no photos or recollection of it in flight. Is it possible to ID from these views? Thanks so much for any...

Humes Warbler? Kent, UK Feb 2023

This was in Preston near Canterbury! I’d be surprised if it was either the Dover or Folkestone bird but it’s possible! This was in a totally innocuous patch of scrub by the roadside… not on a nature reserve or anything. Makes you wonder how many are out there!

Gull ID please - UK, Hertfordshire, Great Amwell, Feb 23

Dear all - Apologies for the bad photos - shot at dusk at a distance! This gull stood out to me - but can't put my finger on what it might be. One open wing shot seems to show a small mirror on P10... other than that, plumage seemed a bit darker than the accompanying Herring gulls, but...

Med gull could be quite likely in the area!!!! Its true.... the darker secondaries seem to point in that direction!

Sabines, Kittiwake, Little gull? Dover, Kent UK, Dec 22

Hi all - Not sure if a definite ID is possible from such distant photos - possible Sabines? Or is it a Kittiwake or Little gull? Photo taken today (Dec 11th) - South East Coast of England. Seems to show dark secondaries. Or have I made a terrible mistake and its funny light on a Black Headed...

    Diver... near Dover, Kent, UK

Hello again - some very hazy photos... is it possible to tell what kind of diver this would be? If so what would be diagnostic. Wingbeats were relatively fast and evenly paced. Photos taken today (5th Dec) looking out on the English Channel. Thank you

Mystery duck/scoter?! Dec 5th, near Dover, Kent UK

Hello chaps - The photos aren't great... but this duck/scoter/thing is baffling me! Head and beak shape reminiscent of Eider... but seemingly quite a prominent white breast. Was diving a lot. Photos taken today - not far from Dover in Kent. Any ideas? Apart from the pale breast, in the poor...

Garganey? South East UK - September

Hi all - Apologies for what might be a daft question here!!! I'm going through photos that are a few week old. Had some very distant views of what I thought to be a couple of Garganey, but they were hanging around a load of mallards in similar looking plumage, some of which were also sporting a...

Spotted or Common Redshank? Kent, UK. 03-05-21

Hi all - Wondering if you can help with these photos. Whilst not 100% certain... I'm fairly sure that all photos are of the same 'shank'. The question is, Spotted or Common Redshank? The first two made me think Spotted - but it was a very fleeting glimpse. When I saw the bird from a different...

Guys - your help with these please! I'm thinking Willow warbler... but just want to check its not a deceiving Chiffchaff!
