We found these holes in our lawn yesterday morning . There are about 50 of them mostly on the edge of the pond . And no it wasn't the coot its plastic !
Blackbird , rook , jackdaw ?

Very Badger like....could be Hedgehog...looks like something hunting grubs that like to be close to water; (Leatherjackets maybe?) rather than roots/rhizomes etc. It certainly had an appetite!

Thanks for the suggestions. There doesn't look like enough damage for badgers but who knows. I have put a trail camera out for the last couple of nights but nothing yet.
