Hi
I really hesitate to put up such a terrible snatched phone picture but hope someone may be able to make a suggestion. At the end of a long pier - my impression was of a very pale warm-coloured Rock Pipit. None of the streaking was darker than a warm beige.

Thanks!

Andrew

Hard to tell from the photo but I would say Rock Pipit. Also, the location would also be more typical of a Rock Pipit (although an ID shouldn't just come from the location of a bird of course)

Hope this helps,
Louis

Yep - the sun is bright, but in the flesh, even taking this into consideration, the colours were much lighter and warmer than the RP I see around here. I know that this coloration is quite clinal in RP. Given that the local ones normally hang out on the rocks closer to shore, was wondering if this may be a different race in migration.
