I am at present trying to prepare myself for a trip that includes birding in Argentina in early January. Narosky's field guide specifically mentions as a location "Magdalena" in Buenos Aires province. I assume this is the town about 50 km SE from La Plata. As I will be passing that general area, I would love to get some more specific info or links about good birding spots in that area.

Farther south (300 Km from Buenos Aires city) you'll find the town of San Clemente del Tuyu with the local reserve 'Punta Rasa'. This spot is important for migratory birds. More info at:

Thanks Fritz, San Clemente has been on my list, I'll actually spend New Year there. I very much appreciate the links.
