I am going for a weeks holiday in Lynmouth (wife's choice) at the end of May beginning of June. Can anyone tell me any birding sites between Minehead and Ilfracombe to check out?

Any chance of Honey Buzzard?

You may be luckier than you think...

Lynmouth is a lovely place. From Lynmouth the river rises up through steep wooded valleys up to moor topped hills.

Dippers dash along the river. Buzzards soar the heights. Red Deer abound, if you know which corner to look around.

A short walk west is the valley of the rocks...lovely place...with Peregrines aloft and maybe the odd seal.

The area is full of rocky coves, moor laden hills, steep wooded valleys and fast running rivers.

You could easily walk evey day for a week from your door in Lynmouth and not use the car. Plenty of paths and plenty of wildlife...

and maybe even the rarity you're after.
