Identification
- Mostly dark chestnut brown
- White streaks on neck, mantle and wings
- Black head with dark grey bare skin around the eye
- Red wattle on the throat (dewlap)
- Eyes red in male and brown in female

Red-faced Guan has red bare facial skin
Distribution
Eastern slope of Andes of Bolivia to north-western Argentina
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly included in Dusky-legged Guan.
Habitat
Yungas forest at elevations from below 1000m asl to well above.
Behaviour
Feeds on leaves, fruit, and seeds.
Vocalisation
Low pitch whistles and rasping sounds.
