Female: dark eyes
Distribution
South America: found in Brazil, northern Uruguay, Paraguay, and north-eastern Argentina.
Taxonomy
Yungas Guan was recently split from this species.
Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized[1].
- P. o. bronzina:
- Easterm Brazil (Espíritu Santo to Santa Catarina)
- P. o. obscura:
Habitat
Atlantic forest, woodland, scrub and riversides, agricultural lands and city parks.
Behaviour
Diet
The diet includes fruit, flowers and buds.
