    I hit a quarter of all bird species (IOC) a couple of years ago but, because the list has grown due to splits, I've dropped below that threshold again by about 8 species. I'll pass the 25 percent mark again in Taiwan in a couple of weeks, hopefully by a much wider margin this time.

    Sorry, I didn't get as far as Al Jahra so I'm not really sure. Looking on ebird hotspots, it says Al Jahra requires a permit but doesn't say anything for the outflow.

    The cafe at Cley, Norfolk, has a great view over the reserve but the birds are a bit distant.

    On a visit to northern Finland last year, the restaurant at Neljan Tuulen Tupa had a number of feeders right outside the window with Pine Grosbeak, Willow and Siberian Tits, Siberian Jay, Common and Arctic Redpolls, etc. present throughout the day.

    Mink Removal achievable (allegedly)

    I didn't realise they had been eradicated from East Anglia. Looking at my Birdtrack records, the last one I saw was in 2017 at the Ouse Washes (incidentally, the same place I saw my first and only Coypu in the late 80s, just before they too were eradicated).

    Ha! Same here. I saw about five GHOs on a chicken tour of Colorado, including a self-found lifer just outside Cherry Creek State Park before the tour started. The only Eurasian Eagle Owls I've seen were chicks in a nest at the well-known viewpoint in Monfrague NP, Spain. Never seen an adult.

    I'm not sure exactly where I was. It was the nearest bit of beach to the bus stop and I could see Flamingos all across the bay. I know there's the Al Jahra outflow and then a Flamingo watchpoint nearer Kuwait City. I would have been somewhere between those two points.
