    Review of 8x25 Victory Pocket

Sorry glassbottle, you must be right. The pics of the ebay listing I found and referenced look identical to mine but I got mine several years ago and don't have the specific listing info any longer. In measuring mine just now, without the VP in the case, it's @ 148 mm (when adjusted for the...

    Review of 8x25 Victory Pocket

glassbottle, I got my GEM case as pictured from James Barber in Peterborough Cambridgeshire. Currently listed on Ebay UK as "Custom Made Case for Fujifilm Finepix JX 200 Digital Camera" at just under 10 sterling. I did gradually and carefully stretch it out a bit with my hands to ease the fit...

Local Leica Ultravid or imported SW CL 10x25?

Since you are willing to spend $1000 on a pocket IMO it should work well for you in all respects. So you can probably scratch the UV off your list without even considering possible diopter issues. I do find that a 1 mm difference in usable eye relief can make a lot of difference, in my case 13...

Leitz: Alphas from yesteryear, still in use today.

Agree the 7x35 has the most elegant profile of that style. And in looking at the 6x24s, I can't quite keep that 212m FOV out of my head when judging just their looks. The pics are beautiful, thanks @Trinovid, but when seen in person, the tiny 8x20 C may be the jewel in the crown. Mike

Very light* setup (binoculars + scope)

Yes that case came with the Minox 8x25 "body design by Volkswagen" if I recall correctly. A good looking, solidly built, small single hinge. Great specs including ER and FOV and four position eyecups. Very good IQ including sharpness to the edge. Great handling for me and nice big focus wheel...

Very light* setup (binoculars + scope)

Yarelli, Agree 100% with your first point above - "must have a belt loop". On your second point, since Swarovski offer different case options with the 25 and 30 mm CL, I would love to see them offer a choice as pictured below. On top is the SW OEM case for the older 8x20 pocket. It will fit...

    Diopter problem UV 10x25

Ouch! I'm one of the few who is ambivalent about the UV diopter. When it works it's really slick but I have had some problems both with 8x20 and 10x25. One had to be sent in for service and I eventually discovered the other just had to be handled very precisely / carefully to work. Not sure...

In Search of the Perfect Compact Binoculars for Active Woods Adventures

The B 7 is quite a bit larger, in relative terms. So you may prefer the overall handling of one or the other making actual comparison best if reasonably possible. Otherwise, the Curio has a much larger true FOV and the 7x might be better for you given your intended use in wooded areas. Good luck...

Female chest friendly binocular harness recommendations?

I strongly second the rec of both @PatR and @Dr. K in posts #3 and #4 above. The RYO harness is relatively inexpensive, infinitely and immediately adjustable one handed on the fly. The most convenient and versatile harness available in my experience. Mike

Problem with green coating of EL SV 8x32

Using several SV and FP Els over the last 10 to 15 years on the Texas gulf coast, no problems. However in the same time frame I have had the "gooey" armor problem with a couple of other makes, including some which have seen much less actual use than the ELs. Mike

    Case for EL 8x32?

I recommend looking online (or calling dealers) for Zeiss, Vortex or Opticron Cordura cases that will fit your 8x32 ELs. Most of these have a belt loop as well as a shoulder strap. Great bins btw, enjoy them in good health. Mike

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

Reading this I just directly compared my previous gen CL 8x25 and the focus function is very similar to the Curio, but the Curio is slightly even more consistent. Agree both are excellent. This is probably down to sample variation. Mike

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

Mine is perfectly smooth and uniform in both directions throughout the range. Mike

8x20 in possession. Which one to add?

Reinier, No worries. To answer your last question first in order to justify, rationalize, excuse, shirk personal responsibility & etc., I've collected various things over the years. In addition, I've always had a strong attraction to smaller - even miniature - versions of things that are...

    Question regarding enclosed bino harness.

How do you carry your binoculars? If you haven't you may want to check out this thread above although I do not recall that it discusses possible negative effects of magnets. I'm no expert but use various harnesses to carry most of my binoculars particularly when hiking. The key is to find one...
