This is what it looked like after a short while after finding the Oriental pratincole,the fella on the far right in blue shirt and jeans was the world recordholder of bird species with 9761 birds.Maybe he still is.

Exactly how I love it when I go birding. A similar number of people with the same eqp. stood at Lake Speichersee for weeks but not one reported a sedge warbler in the reed in front of them. 🤣 To be honest, I prefer to be out there alone. That such a rarity attracts so many people is absolutely easy to understand.

WOW guess they all got nice view and shots of it, but OMG what took it so far up there, its mega rarity here on west Arabia.

I imagine the crowd was a lot larger once word had spread! It's good to see birders relaxed and enjoying the bird through their scopes. Very evocative!
