Celebrating 3 (Larus canus)

And finally, I wanted to celebrate that the lens gave me such good results already from day 1. I had read that I might have to invest in a console and computer software to fine-tune the focus to my camera body, but that doesn't seem to be necessary at all |=)| And I was even able to carry the extra weight (it's 600 grams heavier than the 80-400) and hold it steady enough for these shots without the tripod. The one remaining problem is that it doesn't fit in my backpack while mounted on the camera. I'll have to work out a new way of packing my gear for travel, but I have some months to figure that out before we're able to travel again anyway. So for now, I'm just happy to have it :D But I'll be happy to have to 80-400 back too when it's been cleaned and whatever else it needs having done. I'll get back to my chronology again tomorrow night, after catching up on what everybody else has been posting |=)|

A hat-trick of photographs well
worth celebrating, Doc (especially this one).
You should rip off your shirt and do a lap of honour round the botanical gardens.
The (Wo)Man of the Match award is winging its way to you, even as I type.
Well done.
