Iguazu Falls hotel recommendation (1 Viewer)

Hello,

We are in the early stages of planning a couple of days to Iguazu Falls Argentina and wondered if anyone could recommend a good birding hotel in the vicinity? There looks like there are a number of hotels around but something with lots of birding would be great.

Thanks

Within the town of Puerto Iguazu, Isundo Suites and Breakfast and the upscale Panoramic Grand hotel are on the riparian forest strip along the Iguazu river, looking out over the river, with species as Chestnut-eared Aracari, Yellow-chevroned Parakeet, Turquoise-fronted Parrot, Ochre-collared Piculet, White Woodpecker, Yellow-fronted Woodpecker, Blond-crested Woodpecker, and Barred Antshrike. These hotels are within easy walking distance from the bus terminal with the shuttle bus to the Iguazu Falls as well as from the must-visit Jardin de los Picaflores (the Hummingbird Garden). A few blocks south of the river are the clean budget hotel Peter Pan and the basic Hostel Esquina de Bambu which has functioning AC but smells of mold. To stay at the Falls within the Iguazu National Park there is only one, expensive, option, the Gran Melia Iguazu. Happy birding!

In Feb 23 we stayed at Selva de Laurel for 4 nights. It's a good location as has excellent birding around the hotel. We were guided for this part of the trip by Iguazu Birdwatching (Iguazú Birdwatching) who are highly recommended and very reasonably priced. After we'd agreed an itinerary and targets, they arranged everything including the hotel so not sure of the hotel price.
