We hear these birds in the garden in Manchester UK and BirdNET identifies them as a Spotless Starling.
Thought it unlikely as they're quite rare apart from in Spain so a bit of Googleing says.

Would appreciate any ideas!

Sounds like a Common Starling. Unfortunately (or fortunately) it’s not Spotless.
