Woodpecker eating apples (1 Viewer)

I have an apple tree in my garden, SE Sweden. There are often 5 or 6 blackbirds on the branches eating the apples. Yesterday and today a Great Spotted Woodpecker as joined in, eating apples!
Is this unusual, or have other people seen this behaviour?

I have seen them pecking at apples - probably looking for grubs inside the apples rather than aiminig at consuming the apple.
