Have any BFers seen White-bellied Bustard in Gambia? According to Barlow and Wacher, historically it was reckoned the commonest bustard, but at the time of their field guide there had been "no recent sightings". Now quite a few bird guides are claiming it from the North Bank and the URR. Wondered if any BFers had seen it here.

Can't help G, but when I was there our guide called a Saville's Bustard which was actually a Black-bellied.....so who knows!

In 9 trips i haven't seen White-bellied but have seen Black-bellied once and Savile's most visits. I know Sering Bojang and a Finnish group saw White-bellied on the north bank in Dec 2008 (poss Feb 2008?)

Thanks chaps. They certainly occur, as the attached pic of a roadkill bit shows, but how frequently is the issue. Any more info from anyone would be appreciated.
