where do barred owls feed their fledgelings? (1 Viewer)

We have a tree out back that regularly hosts barred owl nests. Just had at least one owlet fledge. My understanding is that mom and dad continue to feed the fledgling for a while. Where exactly does that happen? Do they go and meet back at the nest, or ...?

They will start off close to the nest tree. Although they have left the nest they can't fly yet. They will hop about in the branches and stay close together. As the young get older and learn to fly (a week or so) the family party will move away from the nest area.
