Any (most) of the specialist optics retailers should have a used stock for sale from part-ex deals. You'll typically pay more than a private sale but should get some sort of warranty/returns option.
You could also keep an eye on the LCE group who seem to have a good turnover and reduce their prices for stuff that isn't shifting at their original valuation.
Who knows they may even take an offer on something that takes your eye. It doesn't do any harm to ask.
Cley spy have a large stock of used scopes at the moment, the 85mm Zeiss looks a good buy as does the RSPB HD82, which has a wide angle zoom and very good optics for the money.

Or one of the ED/Fluorite Kowas (the ones with numbers ending in 3 or 4). One should note though that the 821/2/3/4 series is discontinued and new EPs are unavailable and the converter for current small body Kowa EPs is also not easy to get and expensive.
All 6XX small body Kowa series use the same EPs like the 601/2 and 623/4 still in production...
