Usamnaras accomodation RFI (2 Viewers)

We've been trying to contact Amani and Sigi rest houses by email in the Usambaras, but their contact addresses seem not to work. Does anyone know if these places are still functioning, and how we can contact them?

If not, anyone know of any other budget accom options in the Usambaras, as all we could spot otherwise was Emau $60 a night to camp.

thanks for any help,

Larry and Nicky

We traveled to Amani forest reserve earlier this year. Absolutely recommend Zigi guesthouse as it's a bit more isolated than the other park accommodations. We didn't have our own vehicle and one day we hiked to the other guesthouse, which was a nice walk. It is basic but adequate and they can cook food for you on request. You will reach Zigi before Amani guesthouse as it's near the entrance to the reserve.

Good luck and happy birding!

That's really helpful Fluffhead, thanks so much. We too won't have our own vehicle, so good to know you can hike between those places. :t:
