Todays highlights at the Moors and Flashes.

MOORS: Common Tern (2), Common Sand (1), Lapwing (1), Oystercatcher (2), Avocet (2), Kingfisher, Little Egret, Garden Warbler (N Moors),
Common Gull (1s), B H Gull (c300), Pochard (1), Teal (1), Shelduck (2), Tufted Duck (44), Gadwall (4), Shoveler (pr), Water Rail (2) + 2 chicks,
Sparrowhawk (m).

FLASHES: Avocet (72), LRP (4), Common Sand (1), Lapwing (2), Oystercatcher (2). Shelduck (2), Gadwall (5), Tufted Duck (15), BH Gull (130),
L Whitethroat (JS), Common Tern.

Fairly quiet at the Flashes this evening. Wafers present were: Oystercatcher (2), Avocet (60+), LRP (4), Lapwing (3) & Common Sandpiper (2). Two Common Terns & the 1st S Common Gull also noted. Two broods of three Canada Geese & one, much reduced, of Mallard.
 
Details attached relating to a darvic-ringed BHG seen at the Flashes on 27th April. This is only the second BHG recorded on the reserve from a Scottish ringing scheme. Photo also attached.
