Getting a bit smaller, there is the Wildlife Acoustics SM Micro Song Meter Micro Wildlife Recorder. The use is basically the same as the Mini, but you cannot attach a second mic so there is no option to create a safety channel.
The attached recording of a Painted Bunting was again speculative, with the recorder set to record 24/7 in the woods near our campground.
I think the recording is perhaps a little noisier than the SM Micro, but still not bad. The slight knocking at the end of the track is presumably a creature knocking the recorder box, or perhaps as the device was longed in a fork in a tree, the branch knocking the recorder in the light wind.
Again. this is something that gets marketed as a research tool, but I think it is OK for speculative recordings or stakeouts, and it is very small and easy to take on trips.
