Many spiders here in New Zealand show strange animal or human face's no doubt to scare predators away! Female Two spined spider.

I'm sorry, but all I can say is "yuck" I am petrified of spiders having been bitten by a Brown Recluse years ago.

I will say that this image is beautifully detailed and a colorful spider though!

To the best of my knowledge, the Two spined spider (Poecilopachys australasia) is an Australian spp that slipped into NZ.
That apart, great shot.
Aus has a whole stack of very colourful spiders.

Yes Australians are very lucky with their spiders not so with their politicians!
