Meet Paya (short for putrajaya, the area I found her in south of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia), I am staying in malaysia for a few weeks and went to visit the mosque where she flew on to and landed on my shoulder. The security man behind me said she flew onto the fan and then landed on me. She napped on my hand for an hour and then tried to fly off but was struggling to go high. I carried her to a vet nearby who was not an aviary specialist but examined her wings and found an area that looking like inflammation and said there may be a sprain. She said I could keep the bird for a few days to let it rest and then release it back
I got this carrier from the vet to keep her in and gave some oranges, cooked rice and a mix of granola, dried cranberry and sunflower seeds. I looked online and the species I think might be a java myna or jungle myna?
Bit worried about when I should take it back because I want to give her enough time to heal in a safe spot with food but don't want to stress her out by keeping her in a cage too long.
Any advice would be really appreciated!
Would appreciate if anyone can help confirm the species please
