Taken at Bombay Hook in Delaware yesterday. There was a male there recently.

I've been looking at photographs and I'm leaning towards a Pec as well. I haven't seen a Ruff for twenty years and don't see many Pec's either but the ones I have seen have all had a Sharp breast demarcation. There's been several Ruffs reported in N
why not least sand?
Way to big.

What an unexpected pair to confuse... I assumed least sandpiper at first glance, then had second thoughts. More photos would be nice, but it does tick the boxes for adult least sand (eg white bases to scapulars).
Judging the size of a lone bird is notoriously unreliable.

Wow! It does look similar to a Least doesn't it. There were lots of Least but this was near a pair of Killdeer for a size reference. Least tend to have greenish legs and a tiny bill.

I think I'm digging a big hole for myself here. I'm looking through a camera and an 800 mm lens not bins or a scope. Maybe I'm deceiving myself on scale. :unsure:
