I am not sure I'll have much time with birding...but to "not" take a bird field guide along seems foolish.

What would be a good one to look up?
 
Here is a thread about field guides for Central and South America. I would bring Howell and Webb, and if you tend to forget your North American birds, bring your favorite US guide along because Howell and Webb only shows plates of the non-US species. I do not know if there is a specific Honduras FG, but I doubt.
