Gull, Malta (1 Viewer)

Probably a long shot.

This gull was spotted this afternoon. Unfortunately it appeared just as I was leaving and therefore I didn't manage to get good views and photographs of the bird. However it was immediately obvious that it was very bulky when compared to the usual YLGs. I also thought that the coloration of the mantle and the coverts was paler than what I'm used to.

Pretty much all LWHGs except YLG and LBBG are very scarce (at the least) here. Is there anything to suggest that this isn't just a bulky YLG?

Again I realize that this is probably a long shot due to the quality of the photos but any comments are welcome nonetheless.

Thanks :t:
