Great birding guide for Southern Brazil (1 Viewer)

I have just returned from a 6-day birding trip in southern Brazil guided by Fernando Farias, and I just wanted to give a shout-out to let others know how good he is, and what great value. I have been living in southern Brazil for the past 18 months (Porto Alegre - in the southernmost state in Brazil), but with birding limited by covid, I wanted to get out with a guide to see some of the birds from neighbouring states. My first trip with Fernando was a short 3 day trip in October, concentrating on the area around Joinville (1840 Rs, about 340 US, including guiding, transport and accommodation). Our latest trip visited Joinville, but also went further north, up to Intervales. Fernando is a well known guide to Brazilian birders, but he has not had many foreigners using him yet. A quick scan through e-bird in any of the southern states of Brazil and his name and photos will keep popping up. He speaks excellent English and he is great company. I have been birding with many well-known guides over the years in many parts of the world, and Fernando is as good as the best of them. He picks up species on call that I would never have registered, even picking up calls as we drove along a main road (we had Uniform Finch and Buffy-fronted Seedeater that way). I highly recommend Fernando for anyone planning a birding trip to southern Brazil. His contact details are on his facebook page LINK.
