Today I found my first frogspawn for 2009,it was in 2ponds quite close to each other,I normaly find frog spawn in March, but near the end of MARCH I live in the northwest of england,is this esrly,ps.there is a lot of the spawn.thanks.

I'm also in the north west and found our small garden pond had lots of spawn in yesterday-I can't remember what date it occured last year but this does seem early to me.
Hope it's all OK as the pond was partly frozen this morning

You can report your first frogspawn and lots of other firsts of the year at Nature's calendar here: http://www.naturescalendar.org.uk/
You will need to register your site, whether garden or elsewhere and it's location grid ref/ postcode.
You can also see maps of what events have
been reported so far.
