Canada geese on the move (1 Viewer)

Spring weather has been here in northern British Columbia, on and off, for about 2-3 weeks now, although the big lake (Charlie L.) is still covered with thick ice. Small sloughs and ditches are starting to open up though and all the snow except parking lot piles is gone. I saw the first flight of Canada geese above Charlie L. 2 weeks ago. They were cruising around looking for open water but, finding none, they headed over towards the Peace R., which will have lots. I've seen two others trios since then, maybe looking here for a nest site.

The ravens that winter here are mostly gone now, presumably to a nesting ground/zone somewhere, although I have no idea where that might be. They have been displaying breeding plumage flaring ( around neck, chest, and head ) for 2 months.stacked Canada pair.jpg
