Chiffchaff

Reports today suggest Chiffchaff from areas Mediteranean and West Africa source are now coming through, birds today only giving brief song, they would mostly be feeding after their journey, expect more Chiiffchaff and more vocals towards the weekend.

The male Scaup at Shustoke was showing really well this afternoon, next to a pair of Tufted Duck providing a great opportunity for study and comparison.

Harris Hawk

Hi John, not sure if you're saying one was spotted or it's an appeal? If the latter I follow a blog where the person who writes it mentioned spotting one this week - http://owlsaboutthatthen.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/harris-hawk.html

Hope this helps.
Karl

Hi Karl, At Shustoke reservoir on the path to the meadow by the sailing club was a poster saying Harris Hawk lost with contact details. I put out the details incase it caused confusion with a starter birder.Peter Forbes on the Shustoke blog covers this area regularly and can be contacted on his blog site for contact details from poster.
