Richard Harbird has set up a blog for his local patch at Morton Bagot (near Redditch) at http://mortonbagotbirder.blogspot.com/
Pager reports that it comes from Arnhem, Belgium - if its flown all this way surely it can be counted?
Hi Phil I think you will find Arnhem is in Holland! As Tom has stated Burgers' Zoo have confirmed it as a bird they have sold to a UK buyer!!!
Pic and info on my blog of Night Heron. It seems it was sold by Arnhem Zoo to a UK buyer. We have provided ring number which they will cross check. My guess is Twycross ;-)
I rang Twycross on Thursday afternoon and they were unaware that they had any Night Herons in the zoo.
