New blog-post. Could I find my target species for the day along the northern edges of the city?

The shoveler were there a little before your visit. They were both on the island when we left about 1:30.

Rob
They've been hanging around since at least 13th of January (on and off - though possibly just disappearing in below trees on island rather than venturing elsewhere) and are becoming increasingly tolerant of people, though sometimes rather less tolerant of some of the other local ducks. Great to get the chance to see the species so well within 15 minutes walk from home. I can't actually remember if I had a proper look at the back of the island on Saturday or not.
