    Yes, you were in the right place. You'd have driven past the Camp Lane pits (on your right) on the way to the pub. That's quite close to the southern causeway Brian mentions. Past the church the road becomes a rough track and leads to Wagon Wheel pits (so I'm told, I've never been ��)

    Great White and Little Egrets still present at 18.30'ish. No thanks to the illiterate dog-walker who appears not to be able to understand "Dogs to be kept on lead". I also don't recall seeing a sign that says "Stick to be thrown repeatedly into the water for ten minutes for dog to fetch"...
