You would have thought they would have mentioned the Avocets amongst the listed breeding waders in the article John. After all it is a bit of a star bird of the reserve

A shout out for help! Some of you may remember that about 12 months ago a planning application to create a Travelling Show People site on Heath Lane, Shenstone was submitted and after many objections/much campaigning from residents and local birders/wildlife lovers rejected. I have found out...

No probs Phil...I will happily report any counts/observations I make whilst visiting the reserve. To be honest, I thought the area surrounding the Doctor's Pool and at the North Moors looks very good for passerines now that the scrub is regenerating on the back of management

It's great to hear that this species has been recorded on the reserve again. It really has become a bit of a county rarity since the decline. I remember myself and Craig (Lutley/Wassell Grove birder) regularly seeing a breeding pair near Victoria bridge near Arley in the mid-late 90's...sadly...

Thanks John. Supposedly there is two way traffic of records between Wbrc and Tony S so it should be out there somewhere. I send all my invert records including moths and butterflies direct to Wbrc as opposed to tony s. If I sent to both there is a danger of duplication on the county database...

Only just catching up on reading the older posts and read about the Scarlet Tiger. Just to clarify, Scarlet Tiger was recorded by myself and Tony Smith on the reserve just west of the Moors hide on 27th June 2011. This was posted on here at the time (see below quote) and submitted to the...

Hi all...this doesn't really concern Upton but I thought I would share as many of my fellow Worcestershire Birders follow this thread and I know a few folk on here have had similar problems with internet Trolls via private messages. Hopefully the person concerned may read this.... As some of...

Hi Phil, There was lots of movement of Pied Wags through Shenstone yesterday. In my experience there are usually good movements of Pieds for 3-4 days and then I start picking up Yellow Wags/White Wags...so Sunday may well be the day Jase

Take no notice Graham and go about your birding as you please. Stuff what the spineless tw@ thinks! I have had hateful anonymous comments sent to me on my blog in the past and the only way to deal with them is to ignore them. If you react then you are giving that person the satisfaction of...
