Can a 25mm binocular resolve sky/cloud detail well?

I think a small porro perhaps would give a more satisfying view of the clouds, I remember the small kowa yf 8x quite pleasing for scanning the skies.

NL Pure vs EL - 10x42

No, they are a phenomenal binocular no doubt but I was a little dissapointed at their performance in strong sunlight. I did have fun with them for a few years and sold when the prices were put up for a minimal loss. I decided on some Canons, while not perfect they suit my needs well and I've...

NL Pure vs EL - 10x42

A saving grace is that they hold their value very well, I lost little in reselling and the amount I did lose was nothing in comparison to the nights spent in awe under the stars with the NL Pure.

NL Pure vs EL - 10x42

Oh and that price! Ouch!! When did that happen? I was lucky enough to get mine a few years back but even so it took me a few deep breaths and a quick listen to some biblical sermons in the binocular shop to even consider getting the wallet out!

NL Pure vs EL - 10x42

Yes, the NLs start out like a love affair, then a few hot sunny days later my time with them came to an end, views washed out and glare problems in strong sunlight. However I will say they are still the finest Astro Binoculars I have used. I think the fov entices new owners in, personally the...

    Opinion on CN

Yes I do agree that most have never held a Swarovski on there.

    Opinion on CN

There are many fine reading threads on CN in regards to Swarovski Binoculars and in particular the EL 10x50, Astro related mainly but very enjoyable. You gotta dig for them.

NL Pure 8x32 field of view

I found the magic was in the 12 x NL Pure, still had glare issues though. It's about finding what works for you but that's not easy.

NL Pure vs EL - 10x42

The EDG deserves to be mentioned here, should be on anyone's list looking for an alpha Binocular.

    Binoculars around £1000

Maybe he's talking about brand new, I sold my NL 12x Pures and took a hit to get them sold more quickly. The buyer recieved a perfect pair of NLs at around £300 off of a brand new price, the fees and postage are my problem not the buyer.

    Binoculars around £1000

My vote is for the Nikon HG 10x42, wonderful feel in hand, great weight and size, very nice optics and thoroughly enjoyable by day or under the stars as well.

    Binoculars around £1000

Ebay needs a little caution and research, I've sold all of my high end optics on there without problem, with good prices for the buyer. If the buyer isn't happy with what they receive or the description is not accurate they are fully protected.

    Binoculars around £1000

I often keep an eye on the LCE second hand market, that price was a definite mistake.

Trinovid vs. Noctivid (& NL Pure)

There are good sellers on eBay, ace advertise on there along with quite a few professional sellers, do your homework and it'll be fine, can always return if description is not accurate.

    New AX Visio 10x32 binocular

Thanks Canip, yes digiscoping can get frustrating at times, the Visio solves that and the photos look good, with some sunlight you'll get much better results. Software updates as well may add more improvements. I look forward to finding out more about this binocular.

    New AX Visio 10x32 binocular

Yes but I'm also still recovering from my NL purchase.

    New AX Visio 10x32 binocular

No doubt, I just wanted IS. Initial reports seem to indicate a steady hand is needed for optimal images and video and I cannot find much info on the camera system on board. Will look forward to initial reports and footage.

    New AX Visio 10x32 binocular

At £3800 I don't want mediocre photos and video in a convenient package, I shall look forward to seeing some footage and photos first. Does the camera have ois ? How is the image stabilized? Can't find out much about this. My wish was for Swarovski to implement Image Stabilization into their...

    New AX Visio 10x32 binocular

I reckon I can get better quality photos with my current digiscope binocular setup than this new expensive Swarovski binocular. If anyone gets hold of one and would be so kind to put some photos up then we can compare.

iPhone 15 pro max 5x lens for digiscoping?

A Zooming through a lens degrades the image quickly. I've had better luck actually with digital zoom rather than optical. Depends on the set up I guess, Swarovski glass is more forgiving. Spent hours under the stars digiscoping, I had 10x optical zoom and was getting better results with a...

iPhone 15 pro max 5x lens for digiscoping?

You can make the phone not do that btw. It's the same for macro, it'll change lenses in certain scenarios. I had the 15 pro. You can download certain camera apps, usually pro apps that'll keep the lens from not changing. Regards

    Habicht for birdwatching?

I found my little Habicht 8x30 very bright, more so than any of the NLs that I have owned. The optical characteristics of this little binocular are quite special and anyone who enjoys binoculars owes it to themselves to take a look. Unfortunately for me I could not keep him, it was almost too...
