8x30 EII - Eyecups and Cap Replacements (1 Viewer)

Hello all,

I managed to snag a pair of EII for $450 AUD 💪

It did appear they have had their eyecups folded down and therefore rubber deterioration.

Has anyone found a supplier for the eyecup replacements and also the objective/rear caps?

I did see some on ebay but they seem to have a big markup...

Hello,

It is very poor form for Nikon to discontinue supplying such items for the EII. Someone suggested a supplier of accessories for microscopes. In the States, Bushwacker made fancy objective covers with hinges for the actual covers, for rifle sights but they work for binoculars.

Happy bird watching,
Arthur

Did the actually discontinue supplying them? I'd have to get the measurements of the objectives and then try a microscope supplier, that sounds like a good idea!

As above. You should be able to get them from Nikon. I managed to get quite an obscure part for my eii (don't ask!) directly through Nikon UK. Be aware though that there is likely to be quite a long wait.

In the meantime bicycle inner tubes cut and folded make a half decent eye cup and some generic objective covers from opticron or similar would see to those.

I did message Nikon UK as well as Japan too - Nikon Australia just sent me to a "repair agent" here in Western Australia.

How long did you wait? Was there much cost?
