Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Solomon Islands.
Taxonomy
Formerly placed in genus Gallicolumba by Clements.
Subspecies[1]
There are 2 subspecies:
- P. j. jobiensis:
- New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelago and D'Entrecasteaux Archipelago
- P. j. chalconotus:
- Solomon Islands (Guadalcanal and Vella Lavella)
Habitat
Moist lowland forests and montanes.
