Distribution

Endemic to Galapagos, Ecuador

Taxonomy

It is monotypic.
Has been placed in the genus Camarhynchus by some authorities.

Habitat

Humid highlands.

Behaviour

The diet is mainly fruits and soft seeds, but insects are taken occasionally.
