Identification

19cm.

  • Scarlet cap
  • Bright green-yellow aar-patch
  • Lime green throat
  • Dull blue cheeks and back of neck
  • Pink wash on breast
  • Body green-yellow streaked yellow-white
  • Bill red-orange

Distribution

Endemic to Northern Australia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.

Habitat

Eucalypts and paperbarks

Behaviour

3-5 eggs are laid and are incubated for 21 days.

The diet includes nectar.
